moonbooter - Syncope 2

DE: Syncope 1 und 2 bilden eine gemeinsame, musikalische Einheit. Die Musik entstand zwischen Dezember 2021 und September 2024. Ich verarbeitete die Geschehnisse im Sommer 2021 als die Jahrhundertflut unser Zuhause überschwemmte und dafür sorgte, dass mein Leben von einem Tag auf den anderen Tag ein vollkommen anderes war. Zu Beginn entstanden zunächst vielen Ideen, manchmal nur wenige Takte kurze musikalische Schnipsel, die ich in der Folge Stück für Stück, wie ein Puzzle, zusammensetzte. Ich sortierte die gesammelten Melodien, Sequenzen, Sounds, Rhythmen und innerhalb von 8 Wochen waren knapp 24 Songs so weit fertig. So dachte ich. Nach den Erfahrungen der Flut und des Wiederaufbaus war es für mich unumgänglich eine Auszeit vom Leben zu nehmen. Seit nunmehr fast 20 Jahren produzierte ich mindestens ein Album pro Jahr. Auch unter diesem Aspekt war es sinnvoll auch mal eine musikalische Auszeit zu nehmen. In 2024  habe ich in Ruhe und mit neuer Freude nochmals alle Songs auf Syncope 1 und 2 überarbeitet und ein paar neue Songs für eben diese Alben komponiert. Und wie bei einem Puzzle, ergab das Ganze am Ende ein vollständiges Bild. Das war übrigens eine Zeit, an die ich sehr gerne zurückdenke, und die mir persönlich sehr gutgetan hat. Trotz der Vorgeschichte sind Syncope 1 und 2 rhythmische, melodienreiche und anspruchsvolle Elektronikalben im typischen moonbooter-Stil geworden. An der ein oder anderen Stelle wirkt es eine Spur experimenteller und in Summe ist es vielleicht melancholischer. Aber das soll jeder für sich entscheiden. Dabei wünsche ich Dir gute Unterhaltung!

EN: Syncope 1 and 2 form a common musical unit. The music was created between December 2021 and September 2024. I processed the events in the summer of 2021 when the flood of the century flooded our home and made sure that my life was completely different from one day to the next. At the beginning, many ideas emerged, sometimes only a few bars of short musical snippets, which I then put together piece by piece, like a puzzle. I sorted the collected melodies, sequences, sounds and rhythms and within 8 weeks I had almost 24 songs ready. Or so I thought. After the experiences of the flood and reconstruction, it was essential for me to take a break from life. For almost 20 years now, I have produced at least one album a year. From this point of view, it also made sense to take a musical break. In 2024, I took my time to rework all the songs on Syncope 1 and 2 and composed a few new songs for these albums. And like a jigsaw puzzle, the whole thing finally formed a complete picture. Incidentally, that was a time that I think back on very fondly and that was very good for me personally. The power of music is incredible. You can find 10 of these songs on both Syncope 1 and Syncope 2.

Despite the previous history, Syncope 1 and 2 have become rhythmic, melodic and sophisticated electronic albums in the typical moonbooter style. At one point or another it seems a little more experimental and overall it is perhaps more melancholy. But everyone should decide for themselves. I wish you good entertainment!
