 "Dreamchild" ist anders. Das war mein erster Gedanke, als ich die ersten Stücke des neuen Faber-Albums vor einigen Wochen zum ersten Mal hören durfte. Es dauerte noch einen weiteren Durchlauf bis ich wusste, was anders war. Dreamchild ist kompakter, die Musik irgendwie enger zusammen. Es klingt weniger spielerisch und ist im Gesamtzusammenhang konsequenter. Das neue Album besitzt eine Spur mehr Konzept gepaart mit scheinbar zufällig entstandenen Elementen.
Die Musik ist wie immer melodisch, dieses mal aber auch diatonisch verstimmt, wie im Song "Electronic Daydream". Das erzeugt eine interessante, neue Stimmung. Wer auf melodische EM im Stile von Oldfield&Co steht, sollte auf jeden Fall reinhören. Wer Faber sowieso mag, macht nichts falsch. Für mich persönlich ist "Dreamchild" sein bisher bestes Album.
 „Dreamchild“ is different. That was my first thought when I listened to the first songs of the Faber-album some weeks ago. I had to listen to it a second time to discover the difference. “Dreamchild” is more compact, the music somehow closer.
It sounds playful and is over all more consequent. This new album has somehow more concept combined with apparently coincidently created elements. The music is always melodic, this time also diatonically off-tune, like in the song “Electronic Daydream”. This creates
an interesting, new mood. The one who likes melodic EM in the style of Oldfield&Co. should listen to this album.
The one who likes Faber anyway will not be disappointed. For me “Dreamchild” is his so far best album.
